Behind the Scenes
The Making of the Film
In making their revelatory documentary, the Pattiz Brothers traveled the country conducting more than thirty interviews over the course of two years. The brothers recruited their parents, Jill and Anthony Pattiz, both retired educators, to research hundreds of hours worth of archival footage and more than 10,000 photographs at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library in Atlanta. The film features an original score from composer Andrew Seistrup, a friend of the brothers from their time spent living in Portland, Oregon.
